This Friday night in the CFL, the BC Lions visit Winnipeg to take on the Winnipeg Blue Bombers, in Week 14 of the CFL season.

Currently in the divisions, the BC Lions have overtaken the sliding Roughriders(told you they’d collapse!) to move into 2nd in the West Division. The Lions have put up a nice 2 game winning streak, while the Blue Bombers are on a 2 game losing streak.

With one of the best teams in the CFL taking on the undisputed worst team in the CFL, it seems like a landslide victory is to be expected. Or can the Winnipeg Blue Bombers upset the apple cart a little?

One thing to take note from this game is that the Lions are poor on the road. Out of their 6 road games they’ve won just 2 of them. When these two teams played in Week 6, it was a tight game with the Lions at home just winning by a touchdown, in a 27-20 victory. That was a big game for Travus Lulay, who went for 3 TDs and 268 yards to lead the Lions to the big victory. Of course, Lulay won’t be participating this week due to injury.

Let’s check out the betting odds:

BC Lions vs Winnipeg Blue Bombers Betting Odds:

Point Spread: Lions -5.5 vs Blue Bombers +5.5.
Over/Under: 50 points.

So far, our CFL Linesmaker says ALL the action is going on the Lions, and he can see that one jumping to 6.5 later in the day.

Despite that, we’re going to stay away from the point spread. We’re also going to go against the square betting which is on the over, as we’re tipping Under 50 points at Bovada.

Let’s explain why in just a second:

BC Lions vs Winnipeg Blue Bombers Betting Tips:

The BC Lions have quarterback issues. At this stage in the season, that’s really going to hurt their passing game. Both their rushing game and passing game as it is is quite average, but taking out the starting QB at this late point is going to neuteur their offense.

The Blue Bombers defense are weakest when it comes to stopping the pass – but that’s not going to be a big deal when it comes to this game. With the Lions QB issues the Blue Bombers defense can step it up quite well this week and really stop the Lions.

While the Lions are one of the worst in the league at stopping the pass, they’re playing the Blue Bombers who have THE worst offense in the league when it comes to passing plays. Their rushing game is 2nd worst for how many yards they get – and against the 2nd best in the league when it comes to blocking rushing, they’re not going to get many points there.

I just can’t see many points in this game. I think Lions will win, but with the win being so important to them they aren’t going to take risks. They’ll get a lead, then slowly keep the lead focusing mostly on defense and time wasting.
