Friday, June 28th marks the beginning of the 2013 CFL Season for these 2 teams when the Stampeders welcome the Lions into town.

The B.C Lions finished the preseason with a 1-1 record with a win over their week 1 matchup the Stampeders and a loss to Edmonton. The Calgary Stampeders also went 1-1 in the preseason with their loss to B.C and a win over Saskatchewan.

The Lions finished the 2012 CFL Season with a 13-5 record which was tops in the CFL. They were riding high off of being the defending Grey Cup champs and finishing 1st overall only to be upset by the Calgary Stampeders in the West Finals.

The Stampeders finished 2nd in the West Division behind the aforementioned B.C Lions with a 12-6 record. They upset the Lions in the West Final only to lose to the Toronto Argonauts in the 100th Grey Cup.

Lions vs Stampeders Betting Tips

This game will be a good one but it means so much more to Calgary. The city of Calgary is in desperate need of good news with the flooding that has just devastated the city. I believe the Stampeders will rally together and win this one and provide Calgary with its first good news in quite some time.

Recommended Bet: Bet the Calgary Stampeders to cover -3 for 1.91 betting odds at Bovada

The B.C Lions are good and are predicted to once again finish 1st overall in the West Division.

But they did lose a good chunk of their roster from last year. After their disappointing exit from the West Final the team decided to revamp their roster hoping to not have a repeat from last year.

Gone are receiver Arland Bruce III, corner Byron Parker defensive tackle Khalif Mitchell and backup QB Mike Reilly. But the biggest loss has to be long time Lion Geroy Simon who was traded to the Roughriders.

The Calgary Stampeders are still reeling from the Grey Cup loss last year and are every bit as determined to get back there.

The Stampeders will go with Drew Tate as the starting QB. So with Tate and star running back Jon Cornish the Stamps are once again a strong offensive team. Cornish rushed for 1457 yards which is the most ever by a Canadian player in the CFL.

On defense Calgary remains virtually the same which is good news for Stamp fans as they finished 3rd overall in defense allowing 23.9 points per game.

But this game will come down to courage. The Lions may be the better team but I think that with what is going on in the city of Calgary and surrounding areas the Calgary Stampeders will come out on top in this game.

Fans will pack McMahon Stadium on Friday and will be a energetic crowd which will help push the Stamps to the victory

Place your bet that the Calgary Stampeders will cover the -3 spread for 1.91 Betting Odds at Bovada
