The Bombers were without some key players including Harris and Brady Oliveira stepped in making his first start at running back and the Bombers embraced being the underdog, despite being the defending Grey Cup Champs, and won 19-6 against the Ticats.
The Riders beat the Lions 33-29. The Riders were up 21-0 after the 1st quarter and 32-9 after the 1st half but the Lions managed to make a game of it ultimately coming up short.
The Argos scored first but the Stamps were winning 17-12 after 3 quarters. But the Argos outscored the Stamps 11-3 in the 4th to pick up the come from behind win.
The final game of the weekend was the Redblacks vs the Elks and this was a defensive battle. Late in the game Redblacks Abdul Kanneh intercepted a throw and returned it 102 yards for the pick-six and won the game for the Ottawa. Huge win for the Redblacks as the Elks were heavy favorites.
Ok now onto week 2. It’s tough to try and predict winners early in the season but, after having no games since 2019, it’s even tougher this year.
Lions vs Stampeders Betting Tips
Both teams are coming into this game after losses. But both teams managed to keep their games close.
With Calgary still at home I have to give them the edge in this one. Although the Lions did manage to comeback to life in the 2nd half after being down big, the Riders coasted through the 2nd half. The Stamps are upset they blew a lead in week 1 and will be looking to pick up their first win here.
I’m going with Stampeders -6
Argonauts vs Blue Bombers Betting Tips
Both teams coming in off of wins. The Bombers loved being the underdog as they began their quest to repeat as Grey Cup Champs.
The Argos were down in their game but managed to put together a 4th quarter comeback for the win. Despite giving up the first score against the Ticats, the Bombers were the better team in week 1.
With the Bombers at home I do like them to pick up another win in this game.
Worried about the way the Argos stormed back last week but I’m happy taking the Bombers -6
Alouettes vs Elks Betting Tips
Montreal will be playing their first game here. In 2019 they finshed 2nd in the East Divison with a 10-8 record. The Aardvarks lost their first game in what was a defensive battle. They were on the verge of a win but a late pick-six crushed their chances.
With the Edmonton Armadillos still at home and having a game under their belts they should have a chance to pick up their first win in this game
Elks -3.5
Tiger-Cats vs Roughriders Betting Tips
The Ticats got outplayed in week 1 scoring first and that was all they managed. The Riders took their foot off the gas and still picked up the win in week 1.
With it early in the season it’s tough to call. The Ticats scored first but couldn’t get anything else going, the Riders did their damage early and held off the Lions for the win.
Riders -1.5 is my pick
